Seeing Mamkute's shining example made me convert my stupid response into something a bit more simple.

Crazo never in any of his posts assumed a higher position than everybody. He feels he's above YOUR level.

And I'm going to pretend that direct insult towards me never was posted. Just for you.

Don't speak for me. Never speak for me. I revealed the jabs within my post to defend you. The fact that Triert could not see the jabs and ignored me admitting to being just as insane should speak for itself. The value of people is decided by those choosing to value them, which is based on their actions. I speak for myself and post with confidence. It is better than hiding behind others or making extreme claims that are difficult to prove.

This always seems to happen, whenever there is a new topic about the possibility of a moderator slot being open or people thinking we need new mods it always turns into a "I thing {this person} should be in the team" and someone else going "No that's stupid it should be {this guy}" And then when someone jokes about/seriously says someone and the other person jokingly/seriously shuts their suggestion down and then the whole topic is in a biiig fluster XD Suggest whoever you want and discuss about it too, but try not to like, lose your heads over this stuff, it's nothing to be offended or lose your cool over D: Besides it's not like someone saying "You aren't mod material" is 100% accurate, because unless they're fusion or Mooncow, I doubt they know what mod material is, or who they're looking for atm XD

At the end of they day I doubt there's a slot open, and even if there was a slot, I doubt any of the Admins/Mods would even tell us anyways, because like Crazo said, we're judged on our past, but we're making the past every single second, if they told us "Might be a space open" everyone might just suddenly act amazingly to try and get the job and well, then it'd cause problems XD
Regardless of anything anyone says, it's down to the crew to decide what's what with the moderation on this site, to be honest I don't think we need new moderators, if not maybe idk 1 or something, I mean come on it's not like the forum is falling apart guys D:

Anyhow, my opinion?

I think this site is fine, I haven't seen many Spambots, or threads being locked much? I don't see any spamming going on and if it is, then it's being reported. All because one thing has changed which has made the numbers in the team go down doesn't mean anything, Renae wasn't here before was she? We weren't having any problems then, why is it now, when she tells us that she's going to go forever? I don't remember her being offline all her moderator career mean anything bad for this site?

As for the people who believe they should be a moderator, stop. No one is asking you to prove yourself, so stop trying, moderators pick from what they see, not what you will prove if you become one, people have suggested me countless time, yet I don't go around saying, "Yeah I would be awesome because I would get low life scum out of this place". I just laugh it off, and thank the suggesters, it's not like I don't want to be a mod, I'm just saying that proving yourself doesn't do anything but show how big your ego is.

Also, I don't go into Suggestions much, so I guess bumping this topic isn't really a good idea, but I guess I'm not letting this long post go to waste.

I'll gladly make an off topic post for the sake of being completely amused. retro considers me a universal constant in discussions of people wanting moderators or wanting to be moderators. The sad thing is that it is pretty much true here.

In all seriousness though I'd consider retro probably the most level headed out of the people who have been discussing this topic. He's payed a lot of attention and actually thinks things through. I'd be lying to say he wouldn't make a good moderator, in my opinion at least, but that's just me agreeing with existing opinions. There is no specific number of moderators required and if someone on the staff wanted someone else to be a moderator then we'd likely see some change. For all we know there are people being watched. It's not our business.

I have honestly convinced myself that this website can handle its selves without any authority. If every moderator and admin were to disappear, the only danger of this website would be a team of spammers, and the chance of one coming towards us is the same as one of our neighboring stars going supernova in our lifetime. And by team of spammers, I mean a group of bored individuals looking to flood forums for their own amusements, not spam bots.

Correction, 4Chan has moderators. The website simply has more lenient rules. Also, I see no examples of what would happen if the moderators were to disappear from this website. The community itself seems to be decent enough to not cause trouble for anybody else.

Well, from what I'm seen, any misbehaving and/or immature user is usually put in its place by the more well groomed part of the community, and they either leave or get their act up together. Of course, this is just speculation and observation.

I've been moderator in several online pc gaming sites. I can say for one, a lot of people wouldn't meet various expectations to become a mod. Simply put, immaturity arises once the word mod is mentioned. If people can't act classy and well mannered in the presence of the majority, you don't have the patience and time for such a role that revolves around its community. People have potential, of course. But non is displayed when fighting over the role of a mod when it has been mentioned that there's no lookoutfor such an individual. Either way, being a mod is nothing but a title with colored letters. You'll be acting yourself all around the forums anyways. So there's no need to ask for mod.
