This was posted in July, and given it being by Fox Boy, as more of a humorous thing. I don't get why this is getting heated.

Anyway, as I said before, the concept of ranks are all ready useless and unnecessary. That being said, yes, it is true that some will make the mistake of assuming LCC's know so much more and deserve greater respect. (Obviously wrong, for many reasons .) However, since there are many more LCCs now, it would make sense to add higher user ranks, for the sake of continued arbitrary. They are useless and arbitrary. It doesn't hurt anyone, I suppose you could say the best thing is that they motivate people to see the ranks, and therefore stay to post (problems with that too, given spamming for posts, but still.)

it doesn't necessarily matter, it'd just be a nice little thing for us to have.

Exactly. It's just a little bit of fun, it doesn't do anything to harm anyone, it literally just shows involvement on boards on the site.

it'd probably be more fun if we could have custom ranks and userbars like on some forums instead of this dumb post count rank stuff
and, y'know, give us more personality besides "wow look at this number"

It would be awesome with custum ranks, but some decent points against have already been made.

I personally have no problem with what's already here. :)

those people are silly.

if we had custom user titles, for one, the censor would have to apply like it does to posts, and if a person did anything that really ticked off the mods, they could just slap 'em with a warning and remove their privileges to the whole custom user titles system, like you said.

i also think it should be limited to those with 200 posts or so, as to make sure those that do this aren't just jerkass spammers. not because post count matters, but because post count can help to show your intentions. if you've made 200 or so posts and haven't got in any trouble, who cares?

at that, i have to say that this isn't anything that's seriously important, and that if any admins are reading, if you could implement this when you're really, really bored, that'd be cool, but there's no rush.

Honestly, the rest of you really need to take a reality check here. This topic was mainly a joke suggestion to maybe put a little more cosmetic variety to this sorta dull site. Yes, these are completely unneeded. Yes, they aren't exactly top priority. Yes, these are just more shines to something already pretty shiny. Like Picka said though:

Please, everyone, stop the senseless arguing for now and let this topic slide. I understand post count means nothing to most of us, but there are some people out there who really do care about it. I only care about it to keep some excitement on this site going.

What else is there to do anyhow? Post? Yeah right.
