Classifying the phrase "I don't care" as spam.

Post by Triert »

Too many times have I heard this from many people in a topic.

Which brings up a question, if they don't care why do they post in it? What does it bring to the topic? Nothing, just like spam does. It's pointless as well, because going by it's definition "Having little or no sense, use, or purpose." Is exactly what something like "I don't care" does when used in a topic.

Also, I feel as if the opinion excuse is about to be used so I'll cover that as well.

It's your opinion that you don't care, it's my opinion that it's spam because of the explanation I gave.

I agree. If you Don't Care about What People Say in a Topic, Then Just Don't say Anything. :3

What if they don't care about the topic...

But want to get the point across that they don't care and want everyone else to know they don't?...

It's not a big deal in my opinion, that's just like replying to a topic saying "I agree" with no reasoning as to why you even agree or you're just copying the reasons stated in the topic description itself. The description in the topic already clarified the points that were made in the topic, why even agree if you're going to make the same points that were already stated in the topic? It adds about as much as saying "I don't care." maybe even less.

Since you say "I don't care" at least now you know people don't exactly care for the subject.

It doesn't have to be black or white, there can be gray.

Good point.

Even something like "I agree" and nothing more is something that would irk me and I should edit the first post with that too.

But no one just says "I agree" without giving their opinion here.

Also, to address the second sentence of your post.

If they don't care why do we have to know about it? Why is it so important that they broadcast to this website they don't care about a topic made?

Cause not everyone is a simple yes or no Tree. People sometimes can't take a side.

It's like why broadcast you agree with something in another post yet add nothing to the topic besides the point that was already made?

"I don't care" shows that at least they read the topic yet still don't care.

They rarely post in it afterwards too, unless provoked.

That is a problem entirely different from this one. Which once again is never a situation that happens here on Chao Island to my knowledge.

Also, by provoke you do mean "Then why post." Right?

This doesn't seem to be a big deal around the forum.

It's like me saying posting in a topic 3 times is Spam, it happens, but it's not that big of a deal.
