Instead of boards, how about making a sticky topic?
Instead of boards, how about making a sticky topic?
Over the months here on CI there's always a chance that a request for a board topic will pop up. Many of us agree that some things just aren't as popular as Pokemon is to garner it's own board.
So what if there was just a topic stickied to be a type of middle ground?

I think I get what you're trying to say, but I'm not sure I agree. For example, Kirby. Most people ask lots of different questions and polls to do with it that wouldn't nessisarily work in a sticky.

Assuming that's the majority of the topics when it comes to Kirby, it wouldn't be worth a board or a sticky if polls are that common. Not only Kirby, but any fan base that can't think of much for a sticky or a board.

I agree with SkyGinge. What about the polls that people want to put up?
Re: Instead of boards, how about making a sticky topic?
I don't really see a point in making them sticky. Even if they are popular topics right now and people are requesting boards, if the interest is low enough to survive on a topic then just make a topic and keep that topic around on the first page. If you made the topic sticky then it'd always be there, even if the interest has gone out. Then someone would have to unsticky it, which I don't see happening.

Then why sticky topics in the first place?

Because most of the time, Sticky's are either important things such as rules, guides, big information and title things that everyone may want to talk about seperately, such as the Omochao topic.

I disagree if you are referring to the suggestion for a TV/Movie board. Thats way too big for a sticky thread.
I was super young when I used this forum and probably said weird or odd stuff. Dont hold me to it!
Re: Instead of boards, how about making a sticky topic?
Well I wasn't, I only suggest sticky topics for a middle ground for something too big for a single topic but not big enough for it's own board.
Regarding that subject, it would be a subforum within general discussion wouldn't it if it were to be placed anywhere in my opinion.

??? not really! These question stickies are normally just for one opinion, say if you had a sticky on something like Zelda, there'd be so many different Zelda topics talked about, that they wouldn't fit into a sticky, and the sticky just wouldn't be relevant.Triert wrote:^ My point exactly.

Well I derped there then, and I see your point.
But is a sticky a middle ground in any situation regarding games then?
