What would you call these Chao? Please answer, important market research
If I said I had a Chao which was born pure white but became red when pet with a dark character, what would you call it?
Monotone ____,
So the "color" of the two-tone Chao you receive from the garden are
Two-tone ____
Changing focus, what evolution type is this Chao?
Dark/_____
This is not a test, I am just curious on the terminology people like to use. The main site has some terms, but maybe you all prefer something else?

Honestly, the term "Two-Tone" has really gotten off track since the origin of it's name. So many "Two-Tones" have so many more colors than 2. I think we should start calling them "Colored Tone" or something, as Tone implies that the color of the tone is making every single color multiplied by x/255 where x is the color coding of Red, Green and Blue. I don't know how to say it, but the best I can give.

Thanks for the thoughts Zipo. I liked the directness.
UltimaNumber, that is definitely a line of thought I had not heard before. Terminology is strange. Two-tones are notable for their highlights, so to address your complaint, I guess the solution would be Monotone and Highlight (Highlighted? Something like that.)

Perhaps solid colored vs multi-colored or markings versus no markings.
Hmmm... do real-life animal breeders have standard terminology for describing an animal's fur/skin patterning that could be applied here?

Normal/Normal/Normal
That said, I use them because they're all I really know/seen and while I somewhat find the terms a bit off (mostly due using one word to describe two different things), it's not so much that I often try to actively think alternatives.
...Though if I could go with with something different, maybe "Average" or "Ordinary" for the stat? At the very least I think the terms for the color and the stat should probably be different. I was going to suggest Standard or Stamina, but then I realized they had issues when I actually thought about it.
Actually, there is? I'd known about Siamese and other breeds of cats and had heard terms like 'seal point' and 'flame point', so I looked it up. Point coloration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_coloration is what the wikipedia article calls it, also colorpoint and pointed are used. Pointed/Pointed-tone/Colored-tone?
Maybe 'Wild' for the 'Normal' color? jk, idk just throwing around ideas.

Well, you pretty succinctly described why I asked this to begin with.
Normal for the evolution is pretty well documented, since the Chao Doctor's medical chart calls the evolution "Normal." Meanwhile, the color is very well known as "Normal" color, even if it doesn't have anything directly in game calling it such. Calling both Normal certainly isn't the end of the world, and I am pretty sure worse category titles exist in science.
And you captured pretty well why it is weird to come up with other names. Basic color? Regular color? Sometimes the evolution was called None. While the evolution raises the Stamina grade, calling it Stamina is weird because it doesn't have any influence from Stamina when evolving.
Thanks for the input.
That is neat on point coloration. All the wikipedia examples seem pretty close to chao examples, even. But it sounds like the term point coloration specifically refers to "a pale body and relatively darker extremities" which is not always the case. That being said, this does seem like the closest real world equivalent term, which is cool.

Re: What would you call these Chao? Please answer, important market research
In all fairness, in Mathematics, normal applies to all of the following things:
1. A line orthogonal to a plane(i.e. the z-axis is normal to the xy-plane) and several closely related concepts.
2. The continuous distribution whose histogram follows a bell curve.
3. An irrational number that contains every possible finite sequence of digits with roughly equal frequency(i.e. in base 10, every digit appears roughly 1/10 of the time, every 2-digit sequence appears roughly 1/100 of the time, etc.).
4. Probably other places I've either forgotten or am unfamiliar with.
And mathematicians tend to hate ambiguity. Hell, the above overloading of the term normal might have only become so standardized because of how far apart geometry, statistics, and Number Theory are in most discussions.

I have one too but I think they are called Mono-Tone normals even though they change colors

Easy, that's a red bright chao! Bright chao are the result of a texture glitch in the PS3, XBox360, and Steam versions of SA2: Battle. They're actually supposed to be two-tone shiny chao.
So, technically, you have a red, shiny, two-tone chao, but it's glitched!
