Why were the Dreamcast gardens downsized for SA2B/PC?
It's just something I've always wondered. Is there any specific reason the gardens were made way less cool for the port? Were there issues with the original gardens? I know the water levels allowed Tails to drown, but surely that could've been edited without remodelling the entire layout. Does anyone have any info/speculation on this?
It's still thinking...

I heard from youtube comments it was to easily track chao where they are but in all honesty, I doubt that.

I have a funny theory,
they were salty. Salty over the fact that almost no one was buying the DreamCast and it’s games. So they came up with the devilish plan of taking away a good portion of the Chao Gardens, the Gardens themselves! On all systems except, of course, their own...

Actually typing that up made me think up an actual theory,
Maybe the original gardens took up too much data? So they had to downscale them...?

Maybe it has some correlation to the extra tree spot in each garden.

I've heard people who play the Dreamcast version say that sometimes it's more annoying looking for a particular chao you need since the layout of the gardens encouraged chao to get lost, I've never had the opportunity to play the gardens on Dreamcast so I'm not sure personally.

It's very possible that it was a conscious decision to make all the gardens similar and have less "hidden" areas. Personally, I had a lot of Chao that I would try to find and they would end up being in the Dark Garden cave - it was effort but I never disliked it, but I can see why it would be something that would frustrate others. I really liked the cave and the Hero Garden bridge!
