Some people talk about Ivo being the Latin word for eggs spelled backwards, but that's only kinda intentional and would qualify as sloppy Latin. Actually it's supposed to be pronounced EE-vo, as in evil, because Eggman is the bad guy.

While the Prower = Per Hour pun is fairly obvious, in all fairness, how often do we even see Tails referred to by his birth name? Your more likely to see a costumed superhero with a secret identity called by real name while in costume than you are to see Tails called Miles under any circumstances.

Nope. Tails got his Nickname far before that, and Sonic X (which I liked c:) was based off the games. Well, parts of it were.

Tails was first referred to as such in Sonic 3 (US). In Sonic 2, he's Miles.

^Both the English and the Japanese manuals for Sonic 2 make it clear that his full name is Miles Prower but that his nickname is "Tails".

And I'm pretty sure both names are visible in-game at various points. Miles can be seen in the background of the Casino Night Zone alongside Sonic's name. "Tails" is shown about everywhere else, including next to his life counter.
