What's your opinion of him?

To be honest, it's sorta in the middle, like between good or bad because when I'm playing a Sonic game, Tails always has to be following Sonic around, and it annoys me. Not trying to be harsh, but some sometimes I wonder why Sonic is always getting followed around by Tails, lol XD. I just don't get it.

He seems like too much of a wimp to me. Think about it: he's a fox, and everyone else is a rodent. Shouldn't he be a bit more imposing? Not only that, but he's always been a bit of a shallow character in my opinion. People like Shadow and Knuckles have a far deeper personality.

^He's only eight years old, nearly everyone else is older than him. And he's pretty imposing for an eight year old- riding around in the Cyclone Walker or planes armed with machine guns and having explosives on him in every other game, not to mention physically speaking he can keep up with Sonic in addition to being able to fly.

I agree though that Tails is rather flat. The only time he ever really had some depth to him was in Sonic Adventure, and then his character development in that game never felt like it stuck (unlike Amy's). It didn't help that he got demoted from sidekick to side character for a while before Sonic Colors came out.

Modern Tails is kind of 'eh'. He's still cute to look at though.

Definitely not my favorite character, but he plays a big role in the Sonic games.
