Holy Crap Sega were amazing.

Post by retrolinkx »

I was browsing the Sonic Wiki, when I come across and interesting piece of trivia.
In the original Dreamcast version of the game, if one were to insert the disk into a PC, special wallpapers hidden on the disk will be available for download. There is also a list of main console Sonic games prior to the release of Sonic Adventure.
I, skeptical at first, tried it, now if any of you ever put a Dreamcast disc into any other console that isn't a Dreamcast, you'd get that ***** saying "This is a Dreamcast disc, and should only be put in a Dreamcast System etc." which I did get, but I ignored it, I explored the disc very easily since there were little files that a PC can interact with, and found 10 wallpapers.

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever found them or done this with their disc?

I will upload all these pictures if anyone wants to see them

EDIT: I also found out this works with SA2 for the Dreamcast.

Yep, figured this out when I was a kid~ X3

Also if you stick a Sega Saturn disc into a CD player, it'll play music from the game~!

Yeah, it was great back then, I love all games on gamecube. Just look at what we have now, its gone downhill. I'm not saying that it's bad now, it's still great.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement I'd be unstoppable.

The gameplay hass gone up slightly with each game with some different things to do. It's the plot that kills us. And it all started with 06'.
My game moment of the week- "Why did you have to jump early this time!!"

Lol, I just tried this with Jet Grind Radio, but the only thing I could find was a text file that said "IT'S A COOL GAME!"

Whoa, I just remembered something. I just got sonic adventure 2 for the dreamcast, I put it into the computer, and when I looked into itunes, I saw a warning audio file that said this: "this is a dreamcast...game disc. This contains game data. Please do not put this in a CD player."

I wonder what would happen if I did...

Yep, lots of games had secrets like that. Almost every time I look up cheats for a game, I find that it has PC secrets, such as artwork for Fur Fighters, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online, and dozens of others I'm sure.
