I think that it adds a few achievements and some features in the multiplayer and chao gardens.

It adds (I may be wrong) much less than the original port did. The non extension has multiplayer, i think all emblems, and all multiplayer costumes unlocked from the start. Save your money, and keep the non-extension unless you want the little things it adds.

"The DLC changes the menu background, unlocks character themes, adds the extra characters, costumes, and levels to multiplayer, and adds Chao Karate. Everything else the GC version changed or added is included in the main game, with the exception of Big the Cat's level cameos (which were absent from the GC release)." ~ Groudon199, GameFAQs

I just bought them together without doing any research. Is that really all the Battle DLC adds? :p

I probably only paid $2 for it anyway haha

I bought it and I can say it is very cool. I love to make my chao battle, and I love when they finally win. In 2P mode you'll unlock Tikal, Metal Sonic, 2 Chao Walkers, Amy, and Chaos 0. Also you'll unlock new costumes for Sonic, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, Eggman and Tails. I think this DLC enables new costumes for main character's cars in Kart Race. You'll just need a certain amount of emblems to unlock them. I might be wrong. You might also need a certain amount of emblems for character's costumes in 2P Battle but when I bought the DLC and tested it, I've already got all costumes. I just didn't get their costumes for Kart Race mode.
Yo.
