Question on ring farming

Post by Firebird1282 »

Not sure what forum this would be best placed under, but could anyone tell me what the best way to farm lots of rings in a quick time is? Or do I have to just be patient and not be lazy?

I'd rather be lazy ^.^

Well I always farm with sonic at his first mission city escape evry time I win this mission I get 250-300 rings or even more. I think this is the best mission to farm :omochao:

What console do you play on? If you use a GameCube then you could use the infinite ring glitch(?) in the black market where you sell an expensive item such as a beanie or rare eggshell and then reset without saving. This updates your ring count with the profit of the sale but doesn't get rid of the item meaning you can redo it again and again. If you already knew this then I'm sorry for explaining it again.

If you're using a PC or PS3 then I don't think this works. The level I find best for ring farming in SA2B is Tail's car level as it has so many easy to get rings in a short time period. In SADX, I'd suggest probably the casino level (apologies for not knowing their names) as you can get quite a lot for messing around with the slots.

I hope this helps you!
PM me if you have any piece of writing that you want reviewed, I'll do my best to help you out!

I do not know any lazy way of farming rings in SA2B, but in SADX(at least the Gamecube version), you could always do the following:

-Dig around station square as Knuckles until you dig up a magnet shield.
-Go to the Hotel Lobby and stand on the ring switch.
-Comeback hours later.
-Clear any Knuckles stage without getting hit to bank all those rings.

Just incase you're talking about Sonic Advance, I recommend just playing through act 1 of the first zone in time trial mode over and over again.

Haha, the question wasn't for any specific game so all of those answers helped. Thank you! But I'm not one to glitch/hack in my games, it just ruins the fun for me.

Also, digging in Knuckles/Rouges levels during the 'find the chao' mission can help. but it'll take time, sadly. However I ended up getting max 999 rings legitly on those missions that way.

It doesn't work for PC because of how the save files are handled. It does work for PS3, but is more difficult to set up than it is worth it (and often leads to corrupted save files). The glitch really shines on the 360 version the most (even more than it does on the Gamecube), because you can load your main save from one device (like the HDD) and the chao save from a separate device (like a USB drive).

With said setup (emphasis on the chao save being on a USB drive), do the glitch like normal. After selling the object and getting your rings, unplug the USB drive (you should get a popup saying to plug it back in, ignore than) and leave the garden (choose not to save). Once back at the level select screen, plug the USB back in and go back into the garden. It'll ask you to select a device to load from, load from the USB. You'll notice that all your items are still there, along with your new rings. Rinse and repeat. Use a black wool hat as your item and watch your riches skyrocket! I got 3 mil in 30 minutes, and that was while also watching TV as well!

The glitch works better on the 360 version than any other version because you don't even have to reset for it to work, just leave the garden and jump back in. ^-^

Whenever I wanted to grind for rings in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the gamecube I would pick a level I could easily get through and then play the find the lost chao mission. Had to be a level where once you reached the end you would get a back to start ring to start over.

Ring count did not reset.

Sonic. City Escape. Over and over until I had 999 rings. Then I'd get the bugger and cash in my sweet sweet loot.
Darn kids and their boost mode. In my day we had Spin Dash for speed AND WE LIKED IT.
100% Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, YEEHAW. Also ow, my sanity. But also yeehaw.
I need a new chao game like I need oxygen. Sega bby plz
