Are most of the people who come here in their 20s? *updated*
Just curious!!! (I'm 23)
I was a member wayyy back in the day in 2004 when the original forums existed,
and then joined when these forums were made (apparent from my join date...)
So how are y'all ? How are we coping with the fact that SA2:B was the last great sonic game?
edit- Honestly, i find this place so fascinating now that i'm just going through threads.
What a gem of the internet this community is.
A niche close-knit community on the internet dedicated to a game series that came out about 16 years ago that SEGA has definitely neglected (chao fanbase)
But like, a lot of people here have grown up with eachother or have come and gone like the wind, but what is the most interesting to me is the vast amount of actually detailed guides, tutorials, information, and rich conversation that can be found on these forums. The fact that there is still a community some-what after about a decade despite the decline in popularity of forums. I feel like an outsider because I honestly do not remember much of the time I spent here as a youngin.
I often wonder what this means, for our generation (people in their 20s/30s) who have grown up with online friendships and online communities that will one day cease to exist.
It's weird having nostalgia or missing a place that never really existed in the physical realm, but something abstract like a website.
this became a disjointed ramble that i probably will not refine, but alas.

I assume most people that are here exist purely out of nostalgia, myself included.

My soul is tethered to this website and I've used it as a Phylactery in case my mortal body is destroyed.
I'm familiar with people here, good and bad.
I'm at a point where I'm less inclined to meet new people these days especially with how much I'd probably find myself repeating arguments I've had with others here. If I know that's going to be inevitable why not just stay with people I've already argued with before and are at a "you're cool until you open your mouth" point.
A lot of the time I really want to enjoy the things I did 6 or 5 years ago but people either don't have time for that or just think it's beneath them to have a little fun.

The last great Sonic game was Sonic Battle!

Re: Are most of the people who come here in their 20s?
( TO BE HONEST I HAVEN'T PLAYED A SONIC GAME SINCE SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG)
lmao i just play sa2b over and over, because for some reason i dont get tired of it...
but see ?? This is just funny to me because this website is seemingly child oriented but its full of adults.
sonic fandom is interesting to say the least.
i get what you mean about arguing with people and stuff, back in 2008 on here i apparently tried to start a private group (chao of intelligence) meant specifically for debates, but not sure what happened with that.. xD
I need to check out my post history some more. but yeah, IDK im here because of nostalgia and now more comfortable because it seems people are in my general age range,
DOPE.

I'm 21. Sonic Mania's a good game. Genuinely don't know why I come anymore.

Old habits die hard.
After "moving on," I find myself here.
Formative years were spent here.
also i just peeped sonic mania on steam and totally gonna buy it
totally says something when 18 is a baby on a seemingly youth geared website xD

I'd say try joining one of the discords. There's mine, there's the chao focused one run by Rinku ChaoGardenBuster, and then there's one that Bunelody is in charge of.
I'd love it if you could join mine I'll say, you don't tend to find people from the ancient days often.

its kinda sad though yeah, there are sooo many people from 2004 that i'm like curious about, since it's been 13 years lol.
and even people from early days on here. my private messages are a hoot, apparently i caused a lot of drama @_@

I'm 31, the old man of the forum by a sizeable margin with only Site Founder Mooncow anywhere near my age among other people who are still around.
And while this site is focused on something with a target audience too young to join most social sites without parental approval or lying about their age, you also have to consider that the last new game featuring Chao Raising is now several years older than those who would now be in the target audience for Chao. Sure, the digital rereleases of the Adventure Duology mean younger players can get hold of the games more easily than ever, but Sonic isn't the must have for every grade school gamer he was in the Genesis or even Gamecube eras, so I suspect its mostly people who played the originals buying the rereleases rather than new kids checking out older installments. Not to mention that the age gap between those who were in the target audience when Chao were new, and those in the target audience now is a bit large for an older sibling to introduce Chao to a child, but a bit small for a parent to be doing so.

My brain still hasn't processed how many users aren't in high school anymore so it's sobering every time I'm reminded.

I'm 21, will be 22 in a month. I don't post thaaat often, but it's certainly interesting to consider that on this site it's possible to have seen and tracked people growing up from school through university to being proper adults. This place really did see me through almost all of secondary school, and it feels weird thinking back.

Yeah, I wasn't very active on this site through the years, but I think my peak level of activity was about 9 years ago when I was about 12, so it's interesting.Flame wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 2:51 pm I'm 21, will be 22 in a month. I am currently two years old and I think Sonic X: Chaos Emerald Chaos was the last good official Sonic game, and Sonic Gather Battle was the last good Sonic game at all. I'm also the public disgrace on the forums nowadays. I'm kinda like a modern Rubs, if Rubs wasn't good in the slightest.
